Patients of mine..

Salam 'alaik everyone..

It's about my ' patients' , which I found during this holiday.. There a lots of them, but I think I will just mentioned some..

1) My uncle, a 44 y/o man with a past history of Motor Vehicle Accident complained of chest pain. On social history, he stopped smoking for a long time.. But one day I saw him was using a pipe. Oh dear, this is not good.. Any smoke that you inspire, will give you a gastric..

2) My great-aunt, a 52 y/o woman complained of joint pain with thickening of the bone around the joints. She admitted that she has not see any doctor yet.


3) My another uncle, a 45 y/o man with a known case of hypertension. Complaint of stomach discomfort after taking the antihypertensive agent. He asked me if he can stop the medication.. I say no, because his Blood Pressure is almost 170/110.. I suggested him to see his doctor..

4) An aunt told me her friend, Mrs. X already died due to breast cancer after a long time she kept silence about her illness. I am shocked.. How can Mrs. X waits for years just to get a stage 4? I told my aunt to ask Mrs. X family to screen for any risk of cancer..

As trained by UKM's medical lecturers, first of all I performed the history taking of the presenting illness. Then, continued with Medication History and all the history that related to the illness..

Although the other three patients are not exactly mine, but i can feel the responsible to follow up them.

You know why i care much about them? That's because they are not really know what's going on in them..

The main problem here that i realised is, they never have the idea of going to see a doctor. They will wait until they could not stand for the illness anymore. But, they should know, maybe it's too late to recover..

They also cannot completely afford their life more over their becoming bills that will come out for the medication.. That's why they refused to go to a clinic or a hospital.. If I asked them, why not to go see doctors in general hospital? They said, " We need to wait for a long time.. We can not stand it.. "

For a medical student like me, what can I do is to give a useful advice..

For my uncle that is suffering from reflux, by stop using a pipe.. You will get better..

For my uncle with hypertension, see your doctor.. He knows better your health status than I am.. ( now only (^_^) )

For my aunt, please take your medication.. But, never buy over the counter again.. Seek for your doctor's advice..

That's all I can do for you since I still a student..

Wait for me after I got my license, I will be your doctor.... InsyaALLAH !

2) Lots of effective and practical medicine centres
